A GALASHIELS man appeared in private at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday accused of rape.
Twenty two year old Pavel Voinitchii is charged on petition under section one of the Sexual Offences Scotland Act 2009.
He made no plea or declaration during a brief hearing and his case was continued for further examination.
Voinitchii was granted bail by Sheriff Peter Paterson and his next court appearance has still to be confirmed.
