The blaze at the Gala Fairydean Rovers FC ground at Netherdale resulted in the Lowland League club's historic photographs, treasured mementos and merchandise being destroyed.

The two 15-year-old and a 16 year old boys have been reported for a total of 14 crimes committed during the early hours of Tuesday, December 23 in the Galashiels and Selkirk area involving house-breaking, thefts from motor vehicles and vandalism.

The report to the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration will also include wilful fire-raising at the hospitality suite of Gala Fairydean Rovers FC.

Inspector Tony Hodgers of Police Scotland said:"These youths caused a considerable amount of damage in a short space of time.

"In particular the wilful fire-raising of the hospitality suite at Gala Fairydean Rovers FC has had a significant impact on the local community with priceless memorabilia and club records destroyed.

"This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
