POLICE have arrested three teenagers following a fire at a Borders primary school earlier this month.
Emergency services were called to Pasrkside Primary in Jedburgh during the early hours of Sunday, November 8.
A passer-by had seen flames coming from the roof of the gym building.
It was discovered that rubbish had been set alight on the roof.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "The roof of the building sustained significant damage.
"Following a thorough investigation three males aged 14, 15 and 15 were detained and subsequently charged."
All three teenagers will now be reported to the Children’s Reporter.
Inspector Alistair Hutchens said: “Fortunately no one was injured and this fire never had the opportunity to grow thanks to the actions of a member of the public and the quick response of the emergency services."
