MORE than 100 young riders are expected at tonight's (Wednesday's) Selkirk Junior Rideout.
The latest addition to the Royal and Ancient Burgh Common Riding programme has proved to be a huge hit.
The inaugural ride attracted 78 riders back in 2015 and last year a total of 95 saddled up for the tour of the town.
Even more are expected at the starting line in the Station Yard this evening.
Gordon Hislop from the Ex Standard bearers' Association organising committee told us: "The Junior Rideout has been tremendously well supported since it began two years ago.
"We know we have riders and ponies coming from as far away as St Andrew's, Annan and Eyemouth for this year's ride."
The 2017 Standard Bearer, Kieran Riddell, will lead the cavalcade from the Station Yard at around 6.30pm.
The riders will enjoy a breather at the picturesque Haining House before being paraded through the town's historic streets.
Selkirk Silver Band will provide musical accompaniment and all riders will be presented with commemorative ribbons by this year's Attendants.
