SIR, I note that going by what Councillor John Mitchell intimated (Border Telegraph, April 8), that any losses made by the Great Tapestry of Scotland would be met by the local taxpayers.

SIR, I note that going by what Councillor John Mitchell intimated (Border Telegraph, April 8), that any losses made by the Great Tapestry of Scotland would be met by the local taxpayers.

That totally flies in the face of what his Leader David Parker stated in a recent letter to Selkirk Community Council where he said the Tapestry Trustees would have to deal with any losses.

I suspect that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing at Scottish Borders Council.

The other interesting story from Galashiels Community Council’s last meeting was Councillor Bill Herd taking great exception to an accusation from a member of the public - if he can’t stand a bit of criticism, or the heat, then he should get out of the kitchen and retire!

Here in Selkirk, Councillor Vicky Davidson like her other 33 colleagues on SBC have no idea of reality and she liked to go on a Jolly to Avonmouth seven months ago at the tax-payers expense!

Roll on May 2017 when hopefully we’ll see the end of them all!

I am, etc.
