ON behalf of our Organising Committee, consisting of representatives from the Rotary Club, Traders Association and the Community Council, can we please take this opportunity to thank all those involved in making our inaugural Jedburgh Winter Festival such a fantastic success.

We have so many people to thank, and apologies to those missed, there were so many that made it possible, including, Hercules and all his helpers, Graham Wylie for Santa’s sleigh, the Senior pupils in Jed Grammar and the Rotarians for their stewarding; the Jed Legion Pipe band and the Jedburgh Instrumental band along with the Oxnam Valley Voices; the traders in the Town Hall who made a super Christmas atmosphere, and a special mention to Marion Short from Hawick Community Council who told us we could do it!

It takes money to put on events such like this and we are indebted to all our sponsors and supporters. To all those associated with SBC from the janitors in the Town Hall, to those supplying the road closure signs and all in Emergency Planning.

Police Scotland and the Red Cross gave expert advice and assistance ensuring everyone’s safety, many thanks.

A couple of last mentions, to all the 800 people who took part, what a great night for Jedburgh, and finally to Santa who made it really special, and even managed to organise the weather!

We are, atc.
