SIR, I have no hesitation in saying that the SNP government at Holyrood are doing a good job. However, I cannot say the same for the SNP councillors leading the coalition at Scottish Borders Council.

Firstly, they did an about turn on Executive-style committees, stopped garden refuse collections, stopped the recreation lease at Boleside and inflicted a £208,000 per annum debt on current tax payers and taxpayers who have yet to be born... all to bring the Scottish Tapestry to the village of Tweedbank.

I believe on this record, the SNP councillors could be back onto the opposition back benches after the next election. I have already written to all of the SNP councillors and made my views known.

I am, etc.
