TRAINING: Gala Rugby training for the 2015-16 season takes place every Tuesday and Thursday on the back pitches at Netherdale at 7pm prompt. Former players and new ones will be made most welcome.

PLAYERS: Gala RFC are currently recruiting players for the coming season 2015-16. If you are interested and would like to take this forward please contact George Graham on 07957 862252, George Marshall on 07703 535222 or Scott Dalgleish on 07976 218766.

FIXTURES: On Saturdaythe 1st XV are looking forward to welcoming Ayr to Netherdale and will be hoping to get revenge for past defeats. The game kicks off at 3pm and a big crowd will help the lads to lift themselves after the bitter defeat to Glasgow Hawks at the weekend.

Gala “A” meet their Ayr counterparts at Netherdale in another game in the campaign to retain the Reserve League 1 title, which was knocked back a bit by the defeat to the Hawks “A” on Saturday past. The kick-off is at 2pm.

BALL BOYS: Squad no1 is on duty for the game against Ayr and should report by 2.30pm. If anyone is unable to be there, please arrange for a substitute and let Ian G Millar know on 01896 755145

MASCOT: The Mascot for the Ayr game is Nairn Moncrieff who attends St Peters Primary School and is a member of the P5 squad of the Mini Maroons. GALA YM: After the very comprehensive win against Queensferry on Saturday past, the YM have RDVC at home on Saturday and will be looking for a winning performance at Netherdale where the kick-off is at 3pm. All members are advised that the Annual General Meeting will be held in the Clubrooms at 7pm on Wednesday, September 30. A good turn-out would be appreciated.

GALA WANDERERS: This week’s fixture is away from home against Tynedale Colts, with the kick-off at 3pm Training is at Netherdale every Tuesday and Thursdays starting at 6.30pm. It would be nice to see former players back together with some new faces. Head coaches this season are current Gala player Callum Mackintosh (07583813728) and former Gala Wanderers and YM player Sandy Blacklock.

GALASHIELS ACADEMY: The S1, S2 & S3 Academy teams travel to Edinburgh on Saturday to play their Stewarts Melville counterparts. Further details will be confirmed at training on Tuesday. All squads should be ready to start training at 3.50pm.

GALA RED TRIANGLE: The Under-16 GRT squad head to Berwick on Thursday to take on their U16s in the Border League with kick off at 6pm. Training is every Wednesday starting at 6.30pm on the back pitches at Netherdale under Head Coach Kevin Thomson (contact number 07557238848).

The next committee meeting will take place at Netherdale on Monday, September 28 at Netherdale from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

JUNIOR COUNCIL: Next meeting of the Junior Council will take place on Monday, September 21 in the Paterson Lounge at Netherdale at 7pm.
