Threave Rovers 3 Selkirk 5

STRIKER Jack Hay netted his first hat-trick for new club Selkirk on Saturday.

And his manager, Steve Forrest, hopes it will be the first of many as his forming forward partnership with Garry O'Connor blossoms.

Forrest said: "Jack is taking his chances. Together, Jack and Garry are a handful for any defence and I hope to see the goals keep coming."

It was former Scotland star O'Connor who gave Selkirk the lead inside the second minute at meadow Park.

But bottom side Threave were on level terms on the quarter hour after Greg Goodwin found enough space to beat Jamie Newman.

Hay scored his first just after the half hour when his deflected shot wrong-footed the home keeper.

Threave responded almost immediately withAlly Barnes scoring on 37 minutes.

Selkirk continued to press after the break and they were rewarded with another O'Connor strike on 56 minutes.

Hay rattled in his second three minutes later.

Tait made it 4-3 with just three minutes remaining.

But Selkirk's nerves were calmed in the final minute with Hay's third.
