TENNIS fans from across the Borders will have a chance this weekend to get their hands on the Davis Cup.

The famous trophy was won by Great Britain for the first time in 79 years at the end of 2015 against Belgium in Ghent.

And the Brits, who feature both Andy and Jamie Murray, have began their defence with victory over Japan earlier this month.

As part of the victory celebrations, tennis bosses are taking the historic silverware on a David Cup Legacy Tour of the country.

And on Sunday it will be on display at the Borders Tennis Centre in Galashiels.

Ally McCulloch, tennis development officer for the Scottish Borders, told us: "The day will be a opportunity for people to have their photo taken with the Davis Cup and also to take part in some fun activities."

Coaches from Tennis Scotland will be on hand through Sunday to offer lessons and fun activities.

The Davis Cup will be on display at the Galashiels centre from 10am to 2pm.
