THREE Galashiels firms have thrown their support behind the town's cricket club.

Galashiels-based cashmere accessories brand Sinclair Duncan is the Meigle Park club's main shirt and sweater sponsor, along with Keith Irvine Plastering and Channel Salon Hairdressing.

The trio's logos will be worn by Gala's cricketers in the East League Division One and by its players who turn out for the development team in Division Eight as part of a two-year deal.

Gala CC Chairman Jim Johnston said: "I am delighted all three companies have supported the club.

"All three have strong connections with Gala CC and it is great to see them continue to contribute to our small community club.

"We rely on our sponsors to help us cover our ever increasing costs, so the support of Sinclair Duncan, Keith Irvine Plastering and Channel Salon is hugely appreciated and the shirts will be worn with pride by the squad."

Sinclair Paterson added: "My family have been connected to Gala Cricket Club for many years and with Sinclair Duncan priding itself on being a local company, it made sense to support one of the Borders' oldest sports clubs.

"I am delighted to come on board and sponsor the club and wish its teams every success for the remainder of the season."

Gala CC still has sponsorship opportunities this season. Any company or individual who can support the club – with packages starting at just £20 - can find out more from Neil Crooks (email neil.crooks@sky.com or phone 01896 755849) or can download a sponsorship brochure from www.intheteam.com/galacricket.
