PRIMARY school pupils in Selkirk had fun keeping fit over the Easter break in the form of a sport and activity camp.
Children from primary one all the way through to primary seven enjoyed a range of activities set up by Live Borders Active Schools Coordinator Karen Cornwall.
P1-3 pupils took part in ball skills, playground games and parachute games while P4-7 children learned some new skills in tag rugby, cricket and football.
“The children had a great time at the sport and activity camp,” said Karen, “it’s still very important that we are promoting healthy lifestyles and keeping everyone active.”
Newly instated Selkirk RFC Development Officers Ewen Robbie and Rory Rory Banks helped with the delivery and passed on their expertise while Selkirk High School Sports Leaders also lent a helping hand throughout the day.
Rory added: “It’s really important the local clubs are involved with these coaching programmes to help boost numbers and encourage children to try new and different sports.”
