Selkirk 1 Vale of Leithen 3

WHAT a difference a few days make.

Fresh from crashing out of the Lowland League Cup in a 6-1 hammering against Gala Fairydean Rovers, Vale bounced back with a deserved win over Selkirk.

Michael Collin had fired the home side in front on 42 minutes, but the visitors leveled before the break from the penalty spot with Liam McIntosh converting.

Veteran centre half Craig Meikle headed Vale in front on the hour.

And the points were sealed with five minutes to go as Keith Lough took advantage of a defensive mix up to scoop the ball into an empty net.

Vale interim manager Mark Lamb said: "After Saturday's drubbing at Gala it was good to get back to winning ways."
