FORMER Scotland star Garry O’Connor inspired Selkirk to their first home win in the Lowland League at the weekend - and then revealed he was enjoying his football again.
The 31-year-old ex-Hibs, Lokomotiv Moscow and Birmingham City striker signed a one-year contract at Yarrow Park on Friday following a miserable spell with Scottish League One side Morton.
And he made an immediate impact in the Borders by scoring a goal in the Souters 3-0 win over Threave Rovers in their opening fixture on Saturday to finish the day joint top of the table.
However, club officials - who failed to record a home win in the league last season - admitted they will struggle to hold on to their star signing, who was capped 16 times for his country, if he keeps scoring.
