Tweedbank chairperson David Moffat told the Border Telegraph: “It’s great to have these accreditations as it proves we are ticking all the boxes and doing things the right way. As a club we always strive do the best we can so our players can play football in a happy, safe environment.

“Our aim is to ensure that all local kids can afford to play football; thanks to our great sponsors we are now able to offer all new players a training top, hoody and jacket as well as strips for Saturdays and also offer existing players replacement kit at reduced, affordable prices. We also have a Boot Bank with old Boots and Shin Guards for players to use too.” The Tweedbank based club thanked its sponsors for their support and invited new players to join them.

“We are always looking for new players and would welcome any child no matter what ability to come and try our training for a couple of weeks to see if they enjoy it before joining,” said David.

“We would like to thanks the following companies for their support: Ostle’s Tyres (training tops and strips), Tile Style (strips), McDonalds (Strips), S&S Joiners (Hooded tops), Ceta Precision Engineers, Scottish Building Society and Paul Burns Joinery (Rain Coats), The Auld Mill and Thermo-Glaze (coaches training tops and jackets), Greenlight Graphics (printing) and Tweedbank Late Shop for helping toward juice and crisps on a Saturday.” If you are interested in joining Tweedbank Thistle Youth Football call 07974350373.
