The Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) and the Arts Development Team at Scottish Borders Council are offering the chance for the Borders’ youngest residents to enjoy a live performance of classical music.

Big Ears, Little Ears—an informal, affordable concert specially created for babies and young children—will be held at the Volunteer Hall in Duns next week. Parents, carers and grandparents are invited to bring their little ones along to enjoy inspirational string quartet music in a relaxed setting.

Councillor Vicky Davidson, Executive Member for Culture, Sport, Youth and Communities, said: “This special concert, devised by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, offers something quite unique to parents and carers, many of whom would never have imagined it possible to attend a cultural event with a baby or young child.

“SBC’s Arts Development service aims to provide musical experiences for all ages and, through our long-standing relationship with the SCO, we are delighted to be able to host Big Ears, Little Ears in the Scottish Borders.” The 45-minute concert will take place in the Volunteer Hall, Langtongate, Duns, from 11am on Monday, March 10. Tickets are priced at £2 each, with free admission for babies up to 12 months.

Tickets will be available on the door, but those wishing to attend are advised to reserve their tickets in advance by contacting Arts Development on 01750 726400 or email whatson@scotborders.gov.uk. Group bookings are also welcome.
