THIS weekend the artist collective based at Selkirk will fling open their doors for the annual Spring Exhibition.

Part of the national WASPS Studios network, St Mary’s Mill in Selkirk houses 13 artists working in a range of styles and media in an atmospheric former textile mill. And 10 of them - John Berry, GraceInk Design, Rob Hain, Alex Hain, Kerry Jones, Moy Mackay, Fiona Millar, Mary Morrison, Joy Parker and Alan Richmond - have arranged some of their latest work for public viewing.

A preview evening will be held this Friday between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. And the Exhibition will run throughout Saturday and Sunday, between 10am and 5pm. A spokeswoman for WASPS told us: “This is one of two major public events hosted annually by the artists and a rare opportunity for the public to meet the artists in their working space. “In contrast to the annual WASPS Open Studios in October which takes over the whole mill space, the Spring Exhibition is a gallery exhibition, but visits to individual artists’ studios can be arranged A range of work will be on show – including printed textiles and home accessories by GraceInk Design, retro collages and prints by John Berry, paintings by father and son Rob and Alex Hain, and textural landscapes reminiscent of weather worn paint by Alan Richmond.

The exhibition is free and a warm welcome is extended to all.” THIS weekend the artist collective based at Selkirk will fling open their doors for the annual Spring Exhibition.
