MOTORISTS in Galashiels are being warned to expect delays as 26-weeks of roadworks commenced in the town this morning, Monday September 18.

Work to upgrade the B6374/C77 junction at Easter Langlee will require 3-way traffic lights for the duration.

The B6374 road which is commonly known as the Melrose Road runs through Langlee.

The C77 road runs between the B6374 and Lauder and includes the entrance to the Galashiels Recycling Centre.

A spokesperson for Scottish Borders Council said: “Delays during this period are likely.

“We would like to apologise for any disruption caused.”

NOTE: The C77 will be closed at Glendearg between 7am and 4pm from today Monday September 18 to Friday September September 22.

The alternative route is via C77, B6374, B6360, A68 and C77 to point of closure
